I’m not sure if everyone in the world calls it the “Dirty Myrtle” but my friends sure do. While Myrtle Beach may not be my favorite beach to travel to, there is certainly no shortage of things to do there.
I recommend Myrtle for two types of trips – family vacation with kids OR party time with friends. There’s really no in-between. My husband’s company treats their employees to an annual weekend beach trip. Those with kids find plenty of activities to do and those of us without kids go for the good time.
We were fortunate to have good weather this year so I broke out the Summer clothes. Oftentimes, Myrtle is still chilly and is always a bit rainy in early May. But you can get great off-season hotel rates.
I kept it comfy for my travel outfit because we had a 3 and a half hour drive. Paired a cropped tee with high-waisted denim cutoffs, sandals and a cute pearl hair clip (it was day 3 hair, y’all). I’ve been sharing these Pink Lily shorts and these Amazon sandals nonstop lately because they are both seriously the best – both are comfortable, great fit and so cute!

Upon arrival at our hotel, we promptly headed for the beach to soak up the day’s last rays of sun. I threw on this cute little brown ribbed bikini with my new favorite beach shorts (only $20) from Amazon.
After the beach, we got ready and headed to Broadway at the Beach for dinner and the piano bar. I wore a two-piece Chambray set from Lulus and it is my new favorite outfit. I was so nervous to wear a two-piece set because I was afraid I would feel self-conscious. But I think they’re adorable so I decided to give it a try after my new healthy eating changes. I’m so glad I did because I felt like a million bucks in this outfit.
The next day Matty & I spent the day by the pool where I wore this cute pink and black one piece (currently on sale for $26.99) from Cupshe. Then we joined his parents for lunch at the best burger joint in town, River City Cafe. Seriously, the best plus we’re taking onion rings as big as my head. And yes, my in-laws were there because my husband and his dad work for the same company. It’s so nice to have a trip with them every year!
That night, we went to the company dinner and I wore my favorite yellow romper from Carolmine (use code JAMIE15 for 15% off all Carolmine orders).
I spent Saturday at the beach with Matty’s coworkers while he was playing golf. This white & tangerine cutout one piece is also a Cupshe find and I am obsessed. So flattering, covers everything you want it to but then offers fun details like the one shoulder strap and it’s ribbed.
Saturday night was the last night of the trip and we were exhausted by then. I didn’t even get a picture for you guys, but I wore an outfit I previously shared in a try-on. White jeans are such a classic look and throwing on a tropical top with them is such an easy beach evening look.

Sunday was travel home day and Cinco de Mayo! While we didn’t get to celebrate that day, I did don my “Cinco de Drinko” tee in its honor. Paired it with those Pink Lily denim shorts, a tied plaid shirt and my camo slide on sneakers from Wal-Mart.
