All About Athens

My husband and I were fortunate enough to go on our dream trip to Greece the last week of May. We spent 3 days in Athens and 4 days in Santorini & had the absolute best time! In this post, I will cover some of things we did, saw, ate and wore in Athens. Santorini post will come soon!

Video try-ons of all outfits can be viewed on my Instagram highlights.

We had a long journey getting from Charlotte to Athens. I wanted to be comfy on the plane and this jumpsuit did the trick! It’s made of the softest quality material and feels like wearing PJs. Comes in 3 other colors and fits TTS.

Night 1: Food & Wine Tour

We arrived in Athens midday the following day after leaving the US. We were jetlagged, but after a walk and a quick nap we were ready to take on night one in such an amazing city.

We went on a food & wine tour to get the lay of the land. It was a small group tour, with just us and one other lady (who was from NJ) and our awesome tour guide. We went to two restaurants and then to a wine bar. Greek food and wine is amazing! Also, they put french fries ON the gyros. Best thing ever.

The ruffle sleeve magenta romper was the perfect outfit for this night. Athens has a vibrant nightlife and I felt dressed up yet causal in this comfy romper. Fits TTS but size up for length if taller – in the small.

Day 2: Athens Historical Tour

Our first full day in Athens, we went on a historical walking tour to see all the sites. So glad we did a guided tour so that we really understood the history. The archaeological sites like the Temple of Zeus and the Parthenon were incredible to take in and see in real life. We covered so much ground, learned a ton and ate some great treats along the way.

Needed to combine comfort and style this trip and this little cheetah shorts outfit did the trick. Paired with a cream sweater tank and brimmed hat to complete the look. The tank fits TTS and the shorts probably do too, although I’m in the medium because I like my paperbag shorts a little oversized. The hat is a great Amazon find!

Night 2: Exploring Athens

Our second night we were ready to go out and explore on our own after learning so much about Athens from our tours. We explored several neighborhoods and settled on a little BBQ place for dinner. Yum! Then we chose a cute cafe and did it like the Greeks do – relaxed on a sidewalk table, people watched, had drinks and enjoyed dessert. So relaxing & us Americans could take a page out of Europe’s book sometimes when it comes to the pace of the world.

I wore this cute ankle length maxi dress for a relaxed casual yet cute look. It gets colder in the evening that time of year, so I brought my favorite denim jacket along and it worked out great.

Day 3: Travel to Santorini

The next morning we had an early wake up to catch the ferry to Santorini. I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect from the ferry but it’s pretty similar to being on a plane.

I chose to wear a black bodysuit and black cutoff denim shorts with a fun, colorful patterned kimono over it. Great travel outfit. The kimono kept me warm and is so soft. Comes one size fits all and there are several other pattern options.

Final Night of the Trip

After 4 days in Santorini, we went back to Athens for a final night before heading home. Matty and I went back for more chicken souvalaki at one of the restaurants we tried on the food and wine tour the first night. We did not regret getting to eat that one more time.

I wore the cutest striped romper that night. Practical, yet feminine and cute. Again very appropriate for the Athens vibe. This one runs just a tad small so I would size up one if you’re in between sizes.

Feel free to reach out to me with any questions about Athens if you are planning a trip there. We ended up loving Athens way more than we ever thought we would.
